4 Day Adventure into History. Rated as a 2 ½

Great family adventure

This trip will leave from Trona, CA. Trona is located on Hwy. 178 about 20 Miles North / East of Ridgecrest. We will meet at the Trona Airport parking lot, departing at 8:30 AM. All gassed and ready to go, we will head to Wildrose and the Charcoal Kilns. We will leave after we have had our chance to explore the area and we will get a spectacular view from Aguereberry Point. On the way back we will stop at Harrisburg as we go to the sight of Skidoo. Stovepipe Wells this will be our first nights camp at, there are showers, store, gas, and restaurant. The next day starts with a 9:00 start to The Keane Wonder Mill. The next stop will be at the Chloride Cliff to do some exploring the Ghost town. We will leave the park to visit the old town of Rhyolite (ruins). We will take a back way through Titus Canyon to our camp at Mesquite Springs.

We are off to Scotty's Castle to, top off with gas, eat, shop and tour the Castle or what ever we want. At about 11:00 AM we will leave for the Ubehebe Crater. After this explosive experience we are off to the races at the Race Track. On the way to the races a spot of tea at Teakettle Junction. We are off to Grapevine Canyon and to Panamint Springs for our last night camping, gas and food. This 9:00 AM Departure takes us up Pleasant Canyon on our last day. We will travel through the old town of Ballarat as we climb the canyon to the view down to Stripped Butt Valley. The trip down the hill and some stops at some old mines brings us to Ballarat then on to Trona and the end of an exciting adventure.

This is a good family camping adventure everyone can enjoy. There are no meals provided, but some of them can be purchased.

Includes camping fees and park entrance fees. There will be camping and outdoor cooking , so you will need the equipment. Be sure and use your Camping checklist. This is a Desert bring plenty of water. The weather can change quickly and drastically, bring warm and cold weather clothes.

Some vehicles might require an extra 5 to 10 gallons of gas, if your driving range is limited bring it.

Special Equipment: C.B. Radio, Extra water, Tow strap, Camping Gear for the needs of your occupants, Camera & film, Food for 3 Breakfasts, 4 Lunches, 3 Dinners and snacks and drinks for 4 days.
