Big Bears Jamboree

The cool clean air and views are spectacular.

2 Day trip. Rated as 3

The adventure will leave from the community of Fawnskin, the North side of Big Bear Lake.

This is on Hwy. 38 North side of Big Bear Lake. We will live at 8:30 AM from the old closed Gas Station across from the Gold Pan Café. After a drive to the camp ground we will unload any of our camping equipment for those who will be camping,.

This trip is a nice trip for the whole family. The forest service use fees and camping fees are included. The price of the trip is per vehicle and no accommodations or meals are included in this trip.

The Mountains can be cold at night and warm during the day. Bring clothes for all possible weather conditions.

The trip is a full day, for both days, so you will need a lunch and snacks. This is a nice forested area to explore. We will be on some scenic trails in the pines to the brush, loose shale rocks. There are some mines in and around this historic area. There are some water crossings on some of the trails. We will drop out of the trees then climb up along the White Mountain Trail back into the trees. There are many spectacular view points down to the desert below. We have many side roads to challenge us as we explore the mountain wonders. The loop will bring us back close to our camp site to spend the night. There are motels in the area if you would rather not camp out. The second day we will leave at 9:00 AM. We are off to the higher mountains again. We will spend some time looking at the old gold mining district sights. There is a lot to see in the Holcomb Valley area above Big Bear. We might get a chance to travel over Gold Mountain This is one of the finest views of the lake. We should arrive back to the lake in time to pack-up around 3:00 PM.

Special Equipment; C.B Radio, Camera, Binoculars, Spare tire, Jack, Camping gear (if you are camping), Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and snacks for both days.

Be sure and check your "Check List" for your vehicle gear, and camping equipment.

This is a nice area to practice your camping skills. The smell of the campfire and the pines is something I can never get enough of.

This is our planned itinerary and is always subject to change do to; Weather or any unforeseen conditions. Western Adventures hopes this will be one adventure you will always cherish. I hope to see you on one of our trips real soon!
