Southern Fiesta Jamboree

Baja from top to bottom with
most of our time in the south.

This exciting adventure is Rated 2 ½ 10 Days.
An easy fun adventure the whole family will enjoy!

We will leave from "E" St. / Bonita Rd. and I-805 in Chula Vista, CA., Denny’s Restaurant at 8:00 A.M.. You should have already purchased your insurance and exchanged any money you will need. I suggest that you change Greenbacks for Pesos to prevent being taken advantage of. In some of the more remote locations you don’t get a good exchange rate. The needs of each person is different and the amount of money that you exchange will be different. The use of credit cards for fuel and in stores is unheard of in Baja, you will need cash. This is a good place to use the "canned bank." (This is the hidden compartment made to look like a beverage container). You can buy your Mexican Insurance on line at Bajabound.com.

The trip will exceed 2,100 miles in length and will require enough fuel paid for with pesos. Pemex Gas is running about $2.25 per gallon and up to $3.00 out of 55 gallon drums. You will also need cash for extra food, drinks and gifts. I might suggest that you convert a least $800.00. You can convert any unused peso’s back to dollars when you return.

Our adventure will take us through Tijuana to the toll road along the coast to Ensenada. When we reach Ensenada, we will not stop at this time for trinkets or souvenirs as we will have plenty of time for that along the way back. The next several hundred miles are on pavement. The terrain is the coastal chaparral and we do have a long way to our first night of camping.

The next days drive will get us to Santa Rosalia where we can explore this unique town with a tremendous Mission. Santa Rosalia is one of the most unique towns in all of Baja. It was once a busy copper mining town that may be coming back to life.

The following morning we will visit Mulege for a relaxing and quiet town. We will spend the night in a hotel to relax and get ready for even more interesting adventures. Loreto we will have to pass up, for we have to reach La Paz by evening. When we reach La Paz we will spend the night in a relaxing hotel with showers.

This will be a delayed relaxing day shopping and enjoying ourselves. The drive to Cabo San Lucas is a soothing day. We will take a couple of days sight seeing, sport fishing or just relaxing. Time to shop until we drop and party the night away.

After a couple of days relaxing we cruse to the Pacific coast of Baja. Our travels will take us to one the cleanest towns on the peninsula Todos Santos. This is home to many American artiest. We leave the highway for the mining town of San Juan De La Costa with peaceful bays. This is the remote and non-tourist Baja in its own beauty.

With a nice night of camping it is back through Ciudad Constitucion. We will head up the Pacific side through La Purisima. Your travels will take you to the next night or Mulege or Santa Rosalia depending how far everyone wants to go.

This is the last day and our homes are calling us. Gas and it’s off one more time. This will be a long day reaching the border, but the time change at Guerrero Negro will give us another hour. We will cross back into the United States at Tijuana.

The trip fees include all camping and Hotel fees. It is priced for two people with a double bed. Any additional people are at an extra charge.

Special Equipment; C.B. Radio, Extra Oils, Good Spare tire Cameras and film, Camping Gear (see the check list we will send you), Binoculars, It is a mandatory to carry a passport you will need this for the Visa and re-entry to the U.S.. Bring enough clothing to cover the spectrum of weather (cool to hot).

This is our planned itinerary and is always subject to change due to Weather, Gas availability, Road conditions, and any unforeseen conditions. Western Adventures hopes this will be one adventure you will always cherish. I am looking forward to seeing you on one of our trips real soon!

Thank you,

Western Adventures
