This trip leaves from the border crossing at Tecate , Mexico. We will meet at the Convenience store (one block North of the Border crossing) to top off with gas, get Mexican insurance if you have not already done so. This adventure includes three nights of motel accommodations, camping fees, one breakfast and one dinner. You will need to bring all of your camping gear, food and drinks enough to cover the six days. We will be able to use some restaurants and get additional food along the way. You can buy your Mexican Insurance on line at Bajabound.com.

We will depart at 8:30 AM from the store parking lot. We will stop across the border at the town of La Rumorosa for some of the famous bakery goods and to get a top-off of gas. The group will continue east on highway 2 towards Mexicali. We will take the drive down the La Rumorosa Grade slowly to our turn-off south to the hot springs in Canyons.

Our travels will take us further south to explore the more remote canyons of Palomar, with its thousands of Palm trees. This is a remote camp with no accommodations. This will open up the sky for a billion stars to watch over us. We will want to watch for the native wildlife to see just what has come to check us out.

We will be in some of the most desolate area in the West. The day will take us through the desert to the town of San Felipe. They are noted for their fresh fish caught each day. We will spend the night in the motel and get a refreshing start for the rest of the adventures ahead.

The day brings us headed to the higher elevations. We will return to the dirt, the dry lake power, and the mountains to the west. We will drive some of the roads used in the famous Baja races. This will put us at the well-known "Mike’s Sky Rancho" where we will spend the night.

After a hot breakfast we will head through the mountain passes to the pacific coast. This will put us just south of Ensenada for our last night. We will should be in early enough to be enjoying the Pacific Ocean.

We are off to a little shopping in Ensenada and up the toll road to Tijuana. We should be across the border by mid-afternoon.

Special Equipment; good spare tire, C.B. radio, camping gear, food and water, extra 5 gal. Of gas, camera with film. Use your checklist of your camping equipment to prevent leaving anything behind.
